Applied & Industrial Intelligence
Specialised AI for complex real-world domains where generic capability alone is insufficient and domain knowledge matters.
Our initial work is centred on language models and specialised AI systems, while our research scope remains deliberately broader than any one architecture.
Concertato begins with large language models and specialised AI systems because they provide a powerful platform for current research and practical development. Our research scope is deliberately broader than any one model family or architecture.
Specialised AI for complex real-world domains where generic capability alone is insufficient and domain knowledge matters.
Smaller models, coordinated systems and other approaches that may deliver strong capability with lower computational cost and greater control.
Longer-term research into systems that develop structure, memory and capability through interaction, adaptation and experience.
Exploration of principles from biological and collective systems that may inform new computational approaches to intelligence.

The core research is to train a compact mining-specialist language model from newly initialised weights, using a fully open architecture and training stack. The specialist would operate within a coordinated system with reasoning review, controlled safety sources, audit records and human approval.
Development would begin in controlled simulation. Practitioner-reviewed scenarios and protected, held-out trials would test candidate systems against general-purpose, retrieval-based and conventionally fine-tuned alternatives.
Simulation and evaluation would precede any operational pilot. Performance has not yet been demonstrated.
Discuss this researchOur current emphasis does not define our future limits. AI will increasingly intersect with science, industry, creativity, education, robotics, communication and everyday decision-making.
We welcome conversations with researchers, industry and people with deep domain expertise.
